Heron House

Life & Care

Care at Heron House is personal, long-term, and rooted in kindness. We help you settle in, stay close to the people who matter, and live as independently as possible, with 24-hour support beside you.

At home

Everyday life

Moving into a new home can feel daunting. We take time to help you settle, feel safe, and make Heron House your own.

01

Settling in

The team works to earn trust slowly. You are at the centre of your care, with support to feel happy and safe from the first days.

02

Your keyworkers

Keyworkers listen, help you make choices, and plan the week with you, including days out, goals, and the practical things that keep life running well.

03

Your plan

Your person-centred plan will be created by you, for you. Support staff will assist you to create this around what matters to you, and family involvement is encouraged.

04

Family and visitors

Family, friends, and the people who matter to you are welcome. We support contact at home and in the community, in a way that feels right for you.

A clear fit

Who Heron House is for

A home that feels personal, peaceful and supportive.

Heron House supports three adults, 18 and over, with intellectual, physical and/or sensory disability. That may include people who need extra support around behaviour or mental health.

It is a planned, long-term home. We do not offer emergency or respite placements, or places for anyone under 18.

The team around you

How support works

A social-care team is here around the clock. Wider clinical support is available through Hamilton Park Care Facility when required.

01

24-hour social care

Residents are supported day and night by social care workers and direct support staff, led by Barry Armstrong, Person in Charge at Heron House.

02

Person-centred plans

Goals, hobbies, and everyday choices are planned with you, not for you, and reviewed as life changes.

03

Community and hobbies

We keep the things you already love, and help you try new ones: local shops, cafés, activities, and time with friends.

04

Wider clinical support

Psychology, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, positive behaviour support, GP care, and advocacy are available through Hamilton Park as needed.

Our approach

How care feels

Heron House is part of Hamilton Park, where we value people and our relationship with them is our greatest asset.

Support is offered through ordinary daily life: meals, routines, relationships, and time in the community. Statement of Purpose and Resident Guide documents are available on request.
